About Ekapa: Ekapa is located in Kimberley, in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, near the Free State border. Ekapa Mining owns Ekapa Resources and Ekapa Minerals. Ekapa Resources holds the underground mining rights, while Ekapa Minerals has the surface mining rights. The company operates as a single entity and comprises five units: Joint Shaft, Wesselton, Combined Treatment Plant (CTP), Surface Mining, and Services and Support. Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Environmental Intern at Ekapa, you will be responsible for various tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Enforcing overall environmental compliance through internal and external audits.
  • Conducting site inspections and preparing reports.
  • Implementing ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Reporting incidents.
  • Adhering to and promoting company policies and procedures related to health, safety, security, and environmental issues.
  • Liaising with Mining and Engineering staff as needed.
  • Participating in the implementation and management of environmental targets and KPIs.
  • Data capturing and presentation building.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc in Environmental Science, BA Degree in Environmental Management, or Diploma in Environmental Sciences.
  • 0-2 years of experience in the environmental management field.
  • Driver’s License (Code 08/EB).
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
