The High Court of South Africa has issued an order demanding MaMkhize to settle the substantial amount, adding to the mounting pressure she is currently under.

The news of MaMkhize’s tax troubles may come as a shock to those who have admired her as a role model of luxury and affluence. At 47 years old, she has been hit with the hefty R37 million tax bill, reflecting the accumulated unpaid taxes she owes.

On 16 October, MaMkhize appeared in court and was found guilty, leading to the High Court’s decision to hold her accountable for the outstanding amount of R37,915,549.77. This significant sum is now due for payment, as determined by the court.

The court order specifies two key aspects. Firstly, MaMkhize is required to settle the sum of R37,915,549.77, which equates to thirty-seven million nine hundred and fifteen thousand five hundred and forty-nine rand and seventy-seven cents. Additionally, she is liable to pay interest on the outstanding amount from 1 November 2023 until the date of payment, with the applicable interest rate per annum determined by the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
