On 16 October, MaMkhize appeared in court and was found guilty, leading to the High Court’s decision to hold her accountable for the outstanding amount of R37,915,549.77. This significant sum is now due for payment, as determined by the court.

Additionally, she is liable to pay interest on the outstanding amount from 1 November 2023 until the date of payment, with the applicable interest rate per annum determined by the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
