Accounts Administrator

Purpose of the Job:
To ensure the accuracy, completeness, timeliness and validity of supplier invoice processing, reconciliation of supplier statements and payments thereof.

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • At least 1 year experience in debtors and creditors.
  • High level of accuracy is required.

Job Responsibilities (will include the following but not limited to):

  • Process of valid and legal supplier invoices on the financial system.
  • Reconciliation of supplier’ statement of account to creditors ledger for
    payment.
  • Select and allocate invoices for payment on the financial system.
  • Strive to maintain good documentation of all activities and conversations
    with suppliers.
  • Liaise internal and external with all levels on outstanding invoices not yet
    processed and paid.
  • Selection of correct VAT applicable to transactions processed.

Electrician

Purpose of the Job:
To provide electrical service and support to all area operations through effective maintenance and
installation of electrical equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure the safe and effective operation of
    machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure the safe and effective handling of all Engineering machinery and

Auto Electrician

Purpose of the Job:
Assist the Foreman and Chargehand to deliver quality work output in the day-to-day work activities within the relevant policies, procedures and legislation.

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • N2 Electrical with 4 relevant subjects.
  • Valid Auto Electrician Trade Certificate Section 13/26D.
  • Minimum of 3 years mining experience on TMM Machinery.
  • LV Basic Electricity Training.

Job Responsibilities (will include the following but not limited to):

  • Adhere to the legislated safety, health and environmental standards in
    every task performed.
  • Conduct pre-start checks.
  • Isolate and lockout with relevant documents.
  • Assess and respond to specific risks related to Trackless Mobile Machinery.
  • Perform the job as outlined in the Work Order and as per the detailed Task
    List.
  • Capture history and complete the notification to the required standard.
  • Confirm Work Order with the correct time and all details to the required
    standard.
  • Provide feedback to the Chargehand on any task where there is a
    difference between the task instruction and the job requirements.
  • Communicate if spares, equipment or other factors were not available for
    job on the work order and to the Chargehand.
  • Conduct fault finding on hydraulic systems, internal combustion engines,
    transmissions and drive lines.
  • Conduct fault-finding on all electric systems, electronic systems, PLC’s and
    engine management systems (all less than 48V).
  • Conduct live testing and fault finding on any voltages, not exceeding 1000V.
  • Attend to breakdown quickly and safely.
  • Capture all data related to the stoppage to aid in determining the root
    cause.
  • Change out of item/component.
  • Create Works Order detailing item to be drawn from stock.
  • Create reservation for rotable on Works Order.
  • Create subsequent notification.
  • Complete all fields on the “Damage” tag on the return item to rotable store.
  • Physically transport damaged rotable to lay down area.
  • Perform maintenance and breakdowns as required.

Drill Rig Operator UG

Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for operating a mobile mechanised Drill Rig machine in an underground environment

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12, for all new applicants.
  • Grade 10/AET Level 4/NQF Level 1 for all Ex Bokoni Platinum Mines employees.
  • Have a valid Drill Rig licence / certificate for machine.
  • At least minimum of 6 months experience as an Operator: Drill Rig will be an

  • Conduct start of shift inspection of Drill Rig equipment and test brakes.
  • Move Drill Rig to the drill site and inspect drilling accessories.
  • Transporting the equipment from waiting place.
  • Rattling of the loose rocks.
  • Hanging the cable by the S hook.
  • Collecting and fixing hole pipes.
  • Installation of the lifter tubes after drilling.
  • Drilling of holes for anchors at the tip.
  • Participating in the early entry examination.
  • Drive the Drill Rig around blind corners.
  • Inspect the face and hanging wall at the Drill face and bar down loose rock.
  • Align Drill Boom on the required dip and direction and stabilize the machine with

Multipurpose Driver

Purpose of the Job:
To provide a centralised transport service and operate surface equipment

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (Code 14/EC).
  • Professional Driver’s Permit (PDP).
  • 2 years’ driving experience.
  • Previous experience as a Heavy Vehicle Driver for a company will be an
    advantage.

Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Protection Officer supports the Protection Services Coordinator to manage resources and investigate breaches of security. The incumbent has to initiate and manage appropriate systems to minimise risks relating to the security of employees and assets. It should be recognised that this role could lead to personal risk in its activities.

Job Responsibilities (will include the following but not limited to):

  • Conduct start of shift inspection of machine and test breaks.

  • Installing a water pump before any drilling commence.

Purpose of the Job:

Job Requirements:

Job Responsibilities (will include the following but not limited to):

  • Ensure the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 (Act No. 29 of 1996) safety and
    health standards are maintained.
  • Hold the Minerals Act Regulation (2.15.1) appointment.
  • Responsible for the management of labour under the area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Health & Safety of employees under the area of
    responsibility.
  • Inspect all workings in area of responsibility as frequently as may be deemed
    necessary by the Mine Health and Safety Act.
  • Inspect every working face blasted within 48 hrs.
  • Inspect all other workings (not blasted) at least once a week at intervals not
    exceeding 10 days.
  • Daily during shift inspect working of at least one miner under his charge and
    satisfy himself that work is proceeding safely under every mine section.
  • Daily record findings in the logbook.

Time & Attendance Clerk

Purpose of the Job:
To assist line management and all employees and sub-contractors by providing relevant information through various system-generated reports, granting access and to assist with resolving day-to-day access problems and capturing of input documentation on the Xtime Time and Attendance (TNA) System

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12.
  • Basic Computer literacy.
  • Must be multi-lingual and fluent in English.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • 1 year Administration experience in a Time and Attendance environment.
  • Previous experience in the use of a TNA system (Xtime or SACO) will be an
    advantage.
  • Excel skills will be an advantage.

Job Responsibilities (will include the following but not be limited to:)

Attendance Registers (Gang Books):

  • Printing of gang books and issuing these to the responsible person per gang
    at the start of each shift.
  • Collecting gang books from the responsible person at the end of each shift
    and compiling exception report, identifying employees clocked but not at the
    workplace. Ensure that their status are correctly updated on the system.
  • File daily attendance registers (gang books).
    Overtime and standby:
  • Capturing of pre-approved overtime and standby into Xtime to allow
    employees and contractors to clock.
  • Issuing of clock histories to relevant supervisors for verification of overtime
    worked.
    Parades:
  • Capturing of parades as requested by line and HR.
  • Clearing of parades as per parade clearance procedure.
  • File daily parades once parade has been cleared.
    Engagements & Terminations:
  • Engagement of new employees and contractors on Xtime upon receipt of the
    appropriate route form, including but not limited to:

o capturing of personal data.
o ensuring employee is placed on the correct gang.
o capturing of medical, training, work permit, first aid and licence
expiry dates as per training records.
o printing and issuing of clock card.

  • Termination of all employees and contractors on Xtime as per the
    Termination procedure.
    Clock cards:
  • Issuing of temporary badges if employee has left original at home – valid for
    one shift only.
  • Replacement of lost card – employee to sign for payroll deduction at the end
    of the month

Certificates/licences and Absences:

  • Capturing & filing of all planned absences, shift adjustments, late
    starter/early leaver and other input documentation as received from relevant
    HR & Line personnel.
  • Updating expiry dates on all mine required certificates if and when received
    from Training & Medical Station to ensure that employees are not blocked
    from entering the mine.
    Reports:
  • Draw shaft clearance report at the end of each shift and compare this to the
    lamp register. Mine Overseer on duty to sign this off together with T&A and
    lamp room staff before blasting can commence.
  • Generation of daily reports e.g. absentee, short shift, expected at work vs.
    actual attendance, turnstile checks and submission to relevant HR/line
    supervision for action.
  • Printing of clocking histories on request from employees and line
    supervision

Technical Work Responsibility

  • Report any abnormal activities/systems problems/failures to the supervisor
    or person on standby.
  • Check communications book and follow up on outstanding issues/concerns
    from the previous shift.
  • Ensure that any operational problem that is encountered is reported, even if
    outside immediate area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are adhered to.
  • Ad hoc requests within current job profile.
  • Participate in required team and non-team related meetings on request.
  • Explaining messages displayed on card readers to employees and subcontractors whenever necessary, e.g. medical due to expire, licence expired,
    and access denied.
  • Assisting plant employees with Xtime-related queries on night shift,
    weekends and public holidays.
  • Gathering and updating of employees personal and demographic details on
    Xtime.
  • To provide support to the TNA Supervisor and HR Systems Coordinator in
    fulfilling their roles.
  • To work according to the standard operating procedures and to adhere to
    quality standards.
  • To timeously report all system failure problems to the relevant supervisor.

MINER UG

Purpose of the Job:
To effectively operate a stoping panel and/or development end during a shift by ensuring safe working practices, continuous inspection of panel and/or end conditions, planning to achieve operational targets and monitoring the availability of resources. The miner has legal accountability for stoping panel/development end and blasting in terms of the MHSA, will be required to contribute and assist the panel team with the execution of all the panel tasks.

Job Requirements:

  • A previous experience as either LHD, Bolter or Drill Rig Operator will be an
    advantage.
  • No limitations to working underground in confined spaces.

Team Leader

Purpose of the Job:
This role is responsible for installing and reclaiming of pipes, ventilation fans, rails and drains within the mining operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Grade 12, for all new applicants.
  • Grade 10/AET Level 4/NQF Level 1 for all Ex Bokoni Platinum Mines
    employees.
  • Competent A and B.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Minimum of at least one year working as a Team Leader at a trackless mine in
    decline sinking shaft in high speed development.
  • Teamwork.
  • Fitness Certificate.
  • Understanding & application of Health & Safety Principles.

Job Responsibilities (will include the following but not limited to):

  • Experience in Decline Sinking Shaft Development, High Speed development.
  • Ensure availability of the right tools for the task at hand.
  • Conduct day to day on the job risk assessments.
  • Assisting in construction of ventilation controls.
  • Assist with the provision of sanitation services underground.
  • Assist with conducting ventilation / occupational hygiene measurements
    underground.
  • Ensure safety underground and that the team is equipped with the correct PPE.
    Building of ventilation walls, refuge bays, bricklaying.
  • Ad hoc duties such as over inspecting fire management system.
  • Training of new recruits in the section.
  • Ad Hoc operation of TMMs when required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Team player.
  • Problem solving.
  • Results orientated.
  • Creativity.
