Weather Update for Monday: The South African Weather Service issued alerts for various provinces, warning of severe weather conditions:

  1. Yellow Level 2 Warnings:
    • Damaging Winds: Expected between Alexander Bay and Plettenberg Bay, potentially impacting navigation at sea.
    • Severe Thunderstorms: Anticipated in the northeastern parts of Northern Cape and southwestern parts of North-West Province, with damaging winds, heavy downpours, and small hail.
    • Disruptive Snow: Predicted in extreme western KwaZulu-Natal and extreme eastern Free State, leading to the closure of passes, dangerous driving conditions, and risk to vulnerable livestock.
  2. Fire Danger Warnings:
    • Extremely high fire danger in Kamiesberg (Northern Cape), Matzikama, Cederberg (Western Cape), and Kagisano-Molopo (North-West Province).

Advisories:
An intense cut-off low-pressure system is expected to impact the southern, central, and eastern parts of South Africa until Wednesday, November 1, 2023.   9. KwaZulu-Natal: Cloudy, cold with isolated showers, scattered in the northwest. Snow expected in the western high-ground. Moderate to high UVB Sunburn Index.
