The Opportunity:

MTPA is offering a twelve-month Learnership Programme for the Financial Year 2024/2025. This comprehensive program blends practical experience with theoretical knowledge, culminating in a National Certificate in Nature Conservation: Resource Guardianship Terrestrial (NQF 2). Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R 3600.00 while gaining invaluable hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

As a participant, you will play a pivotal role in conserving biodiversity across various MTPA Nature Reserves, including the iconic Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. Your tasks will range from monitoring and removing invasive species to engaging with local communities to promote environmental awareness. Additionally, you’ll participate in infrastructure maintenance, data collection, and educational initiatives.

Requirements:

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be unemployed South Africans aged between 18 and 35.
  • Hold a Grade 12 certificate.
  • Have a genuine interest in outdoor work and practical conservation efforts.
  • Reside in Mpumalanga Province.
  • Not be registered for any other learnerships.
  • Possess a valid proof of residence and identification.
