About Transnet: Transnet SOC Ltd is a South African rail, port, and pipeline company with its headquarters in Johannesburg. It was established as a limited company on April 1, 1990, and a majority of its stock is owned by the South African government’s Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).

Job Purpose: The Young Professional in Training Programme is designed to develop a talent pipeline for key roles within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) through a structured 24-month training program. The program aims to place young professionals in specific areas within TPT based on their academic background, career aspirations, and business requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Follow a structured training program.
  2. Undergo performance reviews and assessments every six months.
  3. Submit monthly reports.
  4. Perform all duties as outlined in the development program and as may be reasonably required by Transnet Port Terminals.

Qualifications and Experience: Corporate Affairs:

  • Qualification: ND in Digital Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Qualification: ND or Degree in Industrial Engineering.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Good administration and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Research skills.
  • Ability to work within an integrated team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Professional attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Good time management.
  • Preference will be given to Nelson Mandela Metro residents.
