SRD R350 – June is now Approved For the Second batch

The SRD R350 June has now received approval for the second batch. The SA Social Security Agency (Sassa) has made the second payment of the government’s R26.7 billion SRD grant. Further payments to applicants are expected to continue in the coming days.

In all nine provinces, Sassa received just over 8.9 million applications for the R350 grant to assist the unemployed . The majority are who lost their jobs when the Covid-19 pandemic struck in 2020.

Beneficiaries must bring their Identity Documents and the cell phone number they used when applying for the grant on the system to the above-mentioned retail outlets. That number would have received a withdrawal confirmation message.

“Most importantly, if a person has not received an SMS from Sassa indicating that the grant is ready for collection, it means the grant is not yet available.” In other words, before approaching merchants/retail outlets, every approved applicant must wait for an SMS confirming that the grant is available.

SRD R350 -Update Your Banking Information For The R350 Grant

All SASSA SRD R350 grant applicants are encouraged to update their information on the system in order to have the funds paid into their personal bank account, as this is the most convenient and safest way to receive the grant. You can obtain an R350 grant from an ATM by requesting a money transfer to your bank account. To do so, go to the payment details section of the official SASSA website and enter your bank information. Once the payment has been transferred, you can cash it at any time by using an ATM.

Sassa advised applicants not to go to merchants/retail outlets just to see if the grant was available.
