Ingredion is seeking a Summer Intern to support our Eastern Region Accounts team in the US/Canada region. This role involves contributing to new product development and creating customer-valued solutions. As a Summer Intern, you will work on developing and preparing food formulations and prototypes on a pilot plant and lab benchtop scale, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices. Your responsibilities will also include performing research, executing analytical testing, and preparing technical reports under the guidance of the manager.

Responsibilities: Food Science Technical Service Intern

  • Manage work projects to meet timelines and deliverables
  • Analyze data, results, and scientific literature to advance projects
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment following established guidelines
  • Collaborate with the Technical Service team and internal colleagues
  • Present prototypes, project status, updates, and outcomes to the team and key stakeholders
  • Make presentations and write technical reports
  • Demonstrate innovation, self-motivation, and enthusiasm for the job
  • Have a passion for food science and a curiosity for learning
  • Be ambitious, well-organized, detail-oriented, and good with time management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Qualifications:

  • Progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred
  • Completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior
  • Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term
  • Experience with hands-on food concept development is a plus
  • Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality, and ingredient interactions preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
