The response to the “Wrong Side of the Road” campaign has been nothing short of extraordinary, with over 130,000 applicants expressing their interest, surpassing the initial target of 40,000. Successful candidates will receive educational materials through SMS and WhatsApp, including informative videos and quizzes about the effects of alcohol and the stigma associated with drunk driving.

To qualify for a free learner’s license booking, applicants must achieve a commendable 80% pass rate on the K53 app test. Bookings will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with an emphasis on utilizing local libraries with free Wi-Fi to address data limitations.

The “Wrong Side of the Road” campaign is a significant leap towards empowering disadvantaged youth in Gauteng by equipping them with the essential tools to enhance their mobility, employability, and awareness of road safety.
