Job Description: Armed Security Guard

As an Armed and Licensed Security Guard, your primary responsibility will be to maintain a secure and safe environment through vigilant patrolling, monitoring, and enforcement of security procedures. With your valid armed security guard license and extensive firearms training, you’ll be prepared to respond effectively to potential security threats and protect people, property, and assets from unauthorized access, theft, and vandalism.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Patrol and Monitor:

• Conduct regular patrols to detect and deter criminal activity.
• Utilize surveillance equipment to identify potential security risks.

2. Enforce Security Procedures:

• Ensure adherence to security protocols and procedures.
• Act as a visible deterrent to prevent unauthorized access.

3. Respond to Security Incidents:

• React promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or alarms.
• Take appropriate action to resolve issues, including contacting law enforcement if necessary.

4. Maintain Access Control:

• Verify and control access to restricted areas.
• Monitor entrances and exits to ensure only authorized individuals enter secure zones.

5. Use of Firearms:

• Safely carry firearms as required by the job.
• Follow strict protocols for the use of force in accordance with legal regulations.

6. Report Writing:

• Document all security-related incidents accurately and promptly.
• Submit detailed reports to supervisors as required.

7. Collaborate with Authorities:

• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when needed.
• Provide assistance and information during investigations.

8. Customer Service:

1. Interact professionally with employees, visitors, and clients.
2. Provide assistance and maintain a positive demeanor.

9. Maintain Equipment:

• Inspect and maintain security equipment regularly.
• Report any malfunctions or issues to supervisors.

10. Training and Development:

– Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on security trends.

Qualifications:

• Matric qualification
• Registered with PSIRA
• Experience and qualified to handle Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Willingness to complete monthly polygraph testing
• Possession of a valid armed security guard license
• Completion of comprehensive firearms training and certification
• Physical fitness and agility
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Ability to make quick and sound decisions
• Understanding of local laws related to security operations
• Reside in Pomona Kempton Park or neighboring areas
• Proficiency in multiple languages
