Eskom confirmed that load shedding will remain suspended until the evening, with Stage 2 load shedding set to be implemented from 16:00 onwards.

According to Eskom’s tweet, this decision is based on the current lower demand in the country. The stable generation capacity, with breakdowns at 13,158MW and planned maintenance at 6,051MW, has allowed for the suspension of load shedding until 16:00 on Monday.

After 16:00 on Monday, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented until 05:00 on Tuesday. Load shedding will then be suspended from 05:00 until 16:00, followed by the implementation of Stage 2 load shedding from 16:00 until 05:00 on Wednesday.

Eskom has urged the public to switch off non-essential appliances, especially between 17:00 and 21:00, to help reduce the demand during this period.
