Skills Development Programmes are a critical element that contribute to the success of the tourism sector. An adequately skilled workforce ensures world class service levels are maintained within the tourism value chain, and also assure an enhanced visitor experience.
The Department’s Youth Skill Development Programmes are informed by the broader objectives of the Tourism Sector Master Plan that addresses skills shortages in the tourism sector by capacitating unemployed youth and graduates.
In the 2024/2025 financial year, the Department will implement various training programmes to enhance and upskill the youth to make a meaningful contribute to the economy of the country.
