Welisizwe Project

Duration: 24-month contract
Municipalities: Ethekwini Metro, Okhahlamba, Inkosi Langalibalele, Alfred Duma, Ndwedwe, Mandeni, Maphumulo, Msinga, Umvoti, and Nquthu

Positions and Requirements

Field: Clerks of Works/Supervisor

• Salary/Stipend Per Annum: R216,417
• Region: Durban Regional Office
• Requirements:
  • ND/BSc/B-Tech in the Built Environment (e.g., Civil Engineering)
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Engineering
  • Driver’s License
  • 3 years of relevant experience

Field: Artisans (Welding, Painting, Carpentry, and Bricklaying)

• Salary/Stipend Per Annum: R156,573
• Region: Durban Regional Office
• Requirements:
  • Appropriate Trade Test Certificate
  • Knowledge of OHSA Act
  • Knowledge of operation of equipment, tools, and materials
  • Knowledge of general built environment

Field: Trainee in Quantity Surveying (QS)

• Salary/Stipend Per Annum: R89,409
• Region: Durban Regional Office
• Requirements:
  • ND/B-Tech/Honours Degree in the Built Environment

Field: Trainee in Environmental

• Salary/Stipend Per Annum: R89,409
• Region: Durban Regional Office
• Requirements:
  • ND/B-Tech/Honours Degree in the Built Environment

Field: Trainee in Civil Engineering

• Salary/Stipend Per Annum: R89,409
• Region: Durban Regional Office
• Requirements:
  • Unemployed experiential learners, N6/S3 & S4
  • South African Citizens between the ages of 18 and 35
  • ND/B-Tech/Honours Degree in the Built Environment from University/Technology or College

Field: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)

• Salary/Stipend Per Annum: R89,409
• Region: Durban Regional Office
• Requirements:
  • ND/B-Tech/Honours Degree in the Built Environment or certificate in OHS from a registered institution

Field: Project Administrator

• Salary/Stipend Per Annum: R216,417
• Region: Durban Regional Office
• Requirements:
  • Three-year tertiary qualification, National Diploma, or B Degree in administration/matric with 3 years of experience
