Job Purpose

• To provide a safe and efficient driving service for Transnet.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

• Minimum Grade 10 and 2 years experience
• Valid driving license and PDP certification. A driver assessment will be conducted by Fleet Management and must be passed before appointment.

Skills and Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of vehicle care and maintenance
• Road rules and regulations
• Map reading
• Good written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail
• Excellent organisation and planning skills
• Excellent driving skills

Duties and Responsibilities

• To provide a safe and efficient and economical driving service to Electrical Engineering Works staff.
• Maintenance of vehicles ensuring that the vehicle is kept in a clean and roadworthy condition at all times.
• Undertake daily inspection of vehicles for defects and damages to ensure the vehicle comply to a roadworthy condition at all times
• Completion and submission of log sheets
• Control of fuel transactions and summary of fuel slips and the submitting thereof
• Obey and comply with all traffic rules.
