Overview
Volunteers : The South African Police Service (SAPS) is actively seeking community members who are energetic, intelligent, physically and mentally fit, and dedicated to serving their country. These volunteers, known as Reservists, play a vital role in assisting SAPS in the ongoing fight against crime.
A Reservist performs voluntary duties without any expectation of compensation. This unpaid role is vital, not because volunteers are worthless, but because they are priceless. According to the Regulations of the South African Reserve Police Service, Reservists may be called upon by the National Commissioner to perform duties supporting the police in fulfilling their constitutional mandate.
