This prestigious bursary is exclusively open for degree and diploma aspirants in the following fields of study:
- Chemical Engineering (undergraduate only)
- Electrical Engineering (undergraduate only)
- Environmental Studies (undergraduate or Honours)
- Geology (undergraduate or Honours)
- Mechanical Engineering (undergraduate only)
- Metallurgical Engineering (undergraduate or Honours)
- Mine Surveying (undergraduate only)
Our comprehensive bursary package extends to cover a range of essential expenses, including tuition fees, book allowances, comfortable accommodation, nourishing meals, a modern laptop, and a stipend for incidental expenses.
Within 30 days after the application deadline, shortlisted candidates will receive communication. If you do not receive feedback within this period, please understand that your application was not successful on this occasion.
Minimum Requirements:
To ensure your application is considered, please ensure you meet the following prerequisites:
- Hold South African citizenship
- Have successfully completed Matric
- Enrolled full-time in a Degree or Diploma program (NQF level 6 or higher), aligned with the specified fields of study
- Be in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study (except for Geology, Metallurgical, and Environmental students, who may be entering Honours studies)
- Pursuing studies at an accredited Higher Education and Training Institution in South Africa (University or University of Technology)
- Maintain an impressive minimum overall average of 60%
- Possess a fundamental grasp of relevant legislation related to the Mining Industry, including the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Not benefiting from any other bursaries, scholarships, or sponsorships
- Not enrolled in a bridging course or foundation year program
- Priority given to students from Seriti’s local communities

- Certified copy of ID document (issued within the last 3 months)
- Verified full academic record, encompassing 2023 first semester results (issued within the last 3 months)
- Confirmation of registration for the year 2024
- Updated Curriculum Vitae in PDF format
