Sassa Grant Payments For November Commence

SASSA Old Age Grant Increase

Millions of grant beneficiaries will begin receiving their grant payments this week. The agency responsible for paying grants have confirmed on which days in November 2023 grants will be paid.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has begun distributing November 2023 grant payments. More than 18 million people are set to receive grant payments during the next two weeks.

Sassa disburses financial assistance every month to millions of individuals through the distribution of numerous grants. These grants enable the most vulnerable members of our society to purchase essential goods and access fundamental services every month.

Several different grants are distributed by Sassa every month including Older Persons Grants, Disability Grants, Child Support Grants, Foster Child Grants, War Veterans Grants, and Care Dependency Grants.

Sassa endeavours to pay grants from the second day of every new month. However, this is not always possible as the second day of the month may fall on a weekend or public holiday.

In November, grants will be paid from the second day of the month. Grant recipients who receive the children’s support grants will have to wait for the second week for their grant payments as Sassa does not pay grants on weekends.

During the payment week, Sassa urges beneficiaries to check their Sassa status on the SRD website for the exact date when their grant payment will be reflected in their bank accounts.

The Agency also reminds grant recipients that it typically takes 2-3 working days for the funds to appear in their accounts after processing.

Where To Collect Your Grant

Permanent grant beneficiaries and SRD grant recipients have the option of direct deposit into their bank accounts, offering convenient access to their funds.

Sassa grants are available at selected retailers nationwide, ensuring easy access for grant recipients. Retail outlets such as Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer stores, Usave stores, and Checkers all facilitate the distribution of social grants.

Mobile cash pay points are also accessible for grant beneficiaries, although this method has limited flexibility, with funds available for only a few hours during specific payment cycles.
