Omnia is currently accepting applications for the In-service Trainee programme.

This role is for an In-service learner in  Analytical Chemistry  who will be learning and supporting with quality control requirements which are to be met by timeous analytical methods of analysis on production blends against a set specification.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Matric with Maths and Science 
  •  National Diploma / Post Graduate qualification in Analytical Chemistry

Experience

  • University level
  • Candidate needs to have completed a tertiary qualification : National Diploma / Post Graduate qualification in Analytical Chemistry

Duties

Prevented Product Risk:

  • QC approval of production samples / blends by conducting analytical / laboratory analysis against a set specification.
  • Daily effluent analysis.
  • Analyses of incoming raw materials (Physical QC Analysis).
  • Conduct rig tests (Lab batch) polymerization for DMDAAC Monomer to PolyDADMAC prior to production scale.
  • Sampling of products from emerging markets.
  • Prevention of non-conforming product from being dispatched to customer.
  • Timeous closure of quality orders on D365 for both production and traded goods to release stock and for COA availability.

Tested Sample Reliability:

  • Daily calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • Maintenance of external calibrations of lab equipment.
  • Preparation and Standardization of reagents. 
  • Counter testing.
  • Packing / storing / maintaining of retention samples.

Compliant Laboratory and HSE Operating / Work Requirements:

  • Maintaining NSF certification by ensuring all NSF certified products carry the NSF stamp on COA’s.
  • Review and updating of Laboratory Work Instructions.
  • Ensure all SHEQ requirements are adhered to.

Administered Samples and Information:

  • Verification of supplier COA’s for each of the raw materials.
  • Validating and closing of Quality Orders for production on D365.
  • Validating and closing Quality Orders for raw materials on D365.
  • Compiling COA’s. 
  • Packaging / couriering of samples.
  • Verification of manufacturing and expiry date on batch sticker to information on D365 to ensure consistency between batch sticker and COA.
  • Sampling of products from emerging markets, packaging & couriering of samples to Chemtech (Sasolburg).
  • Processing of requisitions on D365 for external analysis.

Available Lab Materials:

  • Processing of requisitions on D365 for reagents and consumables
