We have an exciting opportunity for Security Officers at our Kenilworth, Milnerton, and Durbanville Racecourses. Do you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Officer, your primary responsibility will be to create and maintain a safe environment for our guests and team members. Your duties will include securing the premises by monitoring surveillance equipment and patrolling the area. Security Officers are also expected to prevent loss and theft, and report any irregularities or suspicious activities.

Core Responsibilities Include:

• Ensuring Security Presence: Security Officers must be present 15 minutes before the branch opens. You will oversee perimeter checks and monitor for any suspicious activities before the branch opens and throughout the day.
• Patrolling and Monitoring: Conduct regular patrols of the branch entrance, back areas, and parking lots. Monitor surveillance equipment and perform floor walks to ensure everything is in order.
• Handling Equipment: Ensure all two-way radios, panic buttons, and other security equipment are fully charged and in good working condition.
• Guest Screening: Use scanners to search guests entering the branch, ensuring that all security protocols are followed. Male guests must be screened by male Security Officers, and female guests by female Security Officers.
• Traffic Control: Direct traffic on the premises and manage the flow of vehicles and foot traffic to maintain order.
• End-of-Day Procedures: Minimize entry by closing one door and ensure all security protocols are followed during branch closing.
• Guest Service: As the first point of contact, you must provide a warm greeting to guests, ensure a positive guest experience, and address any complaints promptly.

Compliance and Conduct

Security Officers must adhere to Hollywoodbets’ strict code of conduct and ensure compliance with all regulations:

• Uniform and Appearance: Wear full Amadoda uniforms with name badges, ensuring a professional appearance at all times.
• Screening and Observance: Screen all persons entering the premises, be observant of guests leaving, and ensure no bags or weapons enter the premises.
• Handling Difficult Situations: Communicate with colleagues and press the panic button if dealing with a difficult customer before the situation escalates.
• No Smoking or Alcohol: Officers must not smoke, consume alcohol, or abandon their post while on duty.
• Communication: Maintain open communication with team members using two-way radios and ensure all security protocols are followed.
