Position Overview:
As a General Worker at Fraser Alexander, your duties will include:
- Assisting in operational tasks related to tailings operations and site management.
- Collaborating with supervisors to achieve operational goals.
- Conducting daily inspections of assigned areas.
- Managing tailings materials at operational and depositing areas.
- Handling pipelines: extending and connecting as needed.
- Opening and closing valves according to instructions.
- Supporting problem-solving efforts and reporting any operational challenges.
- Monitoring tailings dam levels (Mud Guard duties) to ensure dam integrity.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization on-site.
- Adhering to safety regulations and participating in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational Requirement:
Grade 12 (Matric) certificate. - Experience:
1 to 5 years of experience working in a tailings environment or a related field.
Key Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively.
- Teamwork and independent working capabilities.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
General Requirements:
- Must pass the mine’s criminal background check.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
- Must be physically and mentally fit for operational tasks.
