Position Overview: Mobile Officer

The DHA is looking for committed, passionate, and talented individuals to join their team as Mobile Officers. This role involves supervising and administering the daily operations of Civic Services functions within Mobile Offices, including Identity Document, Birth, Marriage, and Death (BMD), and Passport application processes.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and monitoring operations at various service points.
  • Managing client queues and daily office operations.
  • Maintaining and inspecting the Mobile Office to ensure it is in optimal condition.
  • Implementing effective risk and compliance practices.
  • Facilitating client services at service points.
  • Operating specialized equipment in both front and back office settings.
  • Driving the mobile unit to designated service points and ensuring timely setup.
  • Assisting clients with embarking and disembarking from the mobile unit, especially those with disabilities.
  • Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervising resources within the unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • An undergraduate qualification in Public Administration, Public Management, Business Administration, Administrative Management, Operations, Human Resources, or Business Management at an NQF Level 6.
  • An NQF Level 7 qualification in Bachelor of Administration, Business Administration, B-Tech, or Advanced Diploma in related fields is an added advantage.
  • One year of clerical experience and experience in a client service environment is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
  • A valid driver’s license (Code 10) and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Basic knowledge of Public Service Regulations, Civic Services operations, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, planning, organizing, supervisory, report writing, and computer literacy skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
