  • Minimum of Grade 10 or relevant NQF level 2/ABET Level 4
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills

  • 6-11 months of experience plus Security Certificate Grade C
  • Registered with PSIRa and valid PSIRa certificate
  • Computer literacy and CCTV experience (advantageous)

  • Ability to work shifts and under pressure


  • Safeguarding state assets, vehicles, employees, patients, contractors, and visitors
  • Monitoring and controlling the movement of patients and visitors
  • Escorting staff members, visitors, and patients
  • Reporting incidents and breaches
  • Searching people and vehicles, enforcing departmental policies
  • Assisting with aggressive patients and managing hospital security aids
