The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting qualified candidates to apply for eight Security Officer positions based in Pretoria, Gauteng. Position Details

  • Salary: R183,279 per annum
  • Location: Compensation Fund, Pretoria

Minimum Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Matric (NQF4)
  • Certification: Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Grade C is mandatory.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in the security industry.

Knowledge Requirements

Candidates should have a thorough understanding of:

  • Department of Employment and Labour (DoL) and Compensation Fund objectives and business functions.
  • Compensation Fund values, goals, and performance standards.
  • Fund Services and Value Chain, including relevant policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Customer Service principles, specifically Batho Pele Principles.
  • Legislative Knowledge:
    • Public Service Act
    • Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS)
    • Minimum Information Security Standards
    • Minimum Physical Security Standards
    • Private Security Industry Regulation Act
    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)

Skills Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Interpersonal skills for effective communication and teamwork.
  • Organizational skills for efficient task management.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address and resolve issues.
  • Presentation skills for clear and effective communication.
  • Computer literacy for basic administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct security control in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide security for equipment, buildings, and premises.
  • Adhere to patrolling procedures to ensure the safety and security of the department’s assets.
